Last updated: April 2025. IJEP is a Diamond Open Access journal. Access to all published content is free of charge for readers and authors alike.
Diamond Open Access Model
The International Journal of Emerging Philosophy (IJEP) operates under the Diamond Open Access model. This means that all content published in IJEP is made freely and permanently available to anyone, anywhere, immediately upon publication — with no subscription fees, no paywalls, and no article processing charges (APCs) levied on authors at any stage.
IJEP is committed to the principle that access to philosophical scholarship should not be determined by institutional resources or individual financial means. By removing all financial barriers on both the reader and author side, IJEP aspires to support a more equitable and globally inclusive scholarly community.
Licence Terms
All articles published in IJEP are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. Under this licence, readers are free to:
- Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
- Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially
The only condition is appropriate attribution: readers must give proper credit to the original authors, provide a link to the licence, and indicate if changes were made. Authors retain full copyright over their work.
Author Rights
Authors publishing in IJEP retain copyright in their work. The Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 licence is applied by the authors upon submission, granting IJEP and the public the rights described above while leaving all other intellectual property rights with the author.
Authors are free to deposit their accepted manuscript, as well as the published version of record, in any institutional repository, disciplinary archive (such as PhilArchive or PhilPapers), or personal website immediately upon publication, without embargo.
Preservation and Permanent Access
IJEP is committed to the long-term preservation of all published content. Articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) through our hosting platform and are indexed in multiple open-access databases and discovery services to ensure ongoing discoverability and access.
